One of the most heartbreaking things I hear from people is that they believe that their guardian angels have left them. I don’t hear it too often, but the people who I do hear it from are pretty certain their angels have abandoned them. I even had one woman tell me once that she sent her guardian angels away when she was a teenager and they never returned.
If only you could’ve seen the utterly stunned look on my face. Wow.
The truth here is that your guardian angels do not “go away.” They do not abandon you. They don’t have egos so you can’t hurt their feelings. Their job – as given to them by The Divine – is to protect, love, and assist you. Even if you were confused enough to want them to go away, your opinion on the topic would not supersede the direction by God that your angels stay with you always and ever.
So what to do when your guardian angels leave? Nothing. Because they didn’t leave.
What to do when you feel disconnected from them? Engage them. Talk to them. Ask the for signs. Ask for their help every day.
If you desperately wanted a relationship with a person you’d put in the work to create it. Right? Well, same thing with your angels. Reach out to them and make it happen!
If you need some assistance on how to get started on that, check out AngelSpeake by Trudy Griswold and Barbara Marks. That’s how I really got going with my angelic relationships. It’s a beautiful book that will jumpstart your connections with your angels.

I Have Something to Confess …
So… I have something to confess. Something really weird that has been going on in my life since I moved back home to Denver. I’ve been keeping this on the downlow but I guess it’s time for me to “come out of the closet” one more time. I don’t even know how it...
Why Can’t Every Day Be April 7th?
Y’all know I am pretty good at full disclosure. However, I am gawd-awful at taking time off. Seriously, it’s problematic. Everyone says so. To give you a hint, I have been published 14 times over 12 years. My peers think I’m nuts. My publisher adores me. The first few...
My Thumb is Turning Green
Last summer, I purchased an 85-year-old house from a 92-year-old woman. She had lived here for 55 years. By all accounts, she was a master gardener in the past with the front yard being a right-proper English garden. Inside, the entire house had hooks in the...
OMG! My Perfect Day!
I recently had a perfect day. For the record, it was Saturday, March 1st. It had been a long time since I had had one. And honestly, it probably wouldn’t sound like “all that” to most people. But that’s the thing about perfect days. Everybody’s different. The...
I’m Done Playing It Safe
I’m currently in the process of making a big decision. I mean, it’s not a gigantic decision, but it’s still a significant one to me. And what I am increasingly aware of is that it feels like all of my decisions over the last year have been big decisions. Some of...
