I have been an early riser for as long as I can recall. While I haven’t always gotten up at 4am, I have been doing that for many years now. A lot of manuscripts have been written before the sun comes up where I live.

My brother-in-law posted this on social media this morning and it rang like a bell for me.

“Morning is God’s way of saying ‘One more time… go make a difference. Touch a heart, encourage a mind, and inspire a soul.”

The reason that I get up at 4am every day is because this is my time of peace. I can wake up and establish my balance for the day. Other than the spiritually uplifting music playing in the background, there is total silence. My dogs nap at my feet while I write, or think, or talk to the angels. I can be introspective in a joyful way before the craziness of the day sets in. This is also the reason why I love the holiday season. To me, the ability to go within and find my peace extends from the pre-dawn hours into the entire day. All I have to do is sit down in front of a decorated tree, take a deep breath, and it’s 4am all over again even in the light of midday. If I weren’t married to someone who isn’t sure he likes the holidays at all, there might be lights up at my house all year long.

Everyone has a place of peace if they just search for it. My brother-in-law’s place is pre-dawn meditation. Other’s might go straight to the gym, run a couple of miles, or just spend time in nature.

The completely predictable question here is “where is your peace?” And if you don’t have an answer to that, then I would urge you to give that thought. The world is more than a little crazy right now. If you don’t have a time/place/practice for finding your peace, then you are missing out on what might be the single biggest strength you have.

If you do know where your peace is but you’re not setting aside time for that, then I also urge you to make time for that.

It’s okay if you don’t do that at 4am, though.

Angel blessings,

~Radleigh
