As you might know, I just finished up a new video course called Tarot & Mediumship. I taught it with the amazing medium, Heather Hildebrand. My mother passed away in May of 2013 (right after Mother’s Day) but she still gets her messages through to me. Often, they come through Heather.
Heather called me a couple of weeks ago to tell me that mom visited her in a dream last night with a message for me. As soon as Heather explained what my mom wanted me to know, I immediately said to Heather “Oh, my mom is writing my blog!”
So, here’s what mom felt that I (and you) needed to know “Life is like a Christmas tree. Not that one in Radleigh’s living room. That’s just the ‘pretty tree.’ Oh, it’s wonderful and all, but there’s no story there. The decorations are all new and perfect. I’m talking about the other tree – the one in the dining room. That’s the one with the history on it. There are ornaments that remind him of good times, but also ones that remind him of great loss. We all come into this life with a purpose. And there is purpose to the joy and the pain. But when you stand back, it’s all beautiful – just like a Christmas tree.”
Please keep in mind that Heather has never been in my house at Christmas and has not seen our two trees to know that one is “pretty” and the other has “history.” She’s just that fabulous a medium.
I had never thought about how a Christmas tree could reflect our lives in quite that way. Just a couple of months ago, my cousin Leah sent me some of the handmade ornaments her mother (also now deceased) had made and I had every intention of adding them to the “history tree.”
What I have known for a long time is that the holidays are hallowed to me. Not only is my birthday in December, but my mother’s birthday was Christmas Eve. It is a time of joyful reflection in my life that I truly cherish. I love my mother’s message to me, but I think possibly… just maybe… the message was more meant for you than for me. Of course, I will definitely be thinking about her message as the trees go up this year. Each ornament will go up with more consideration for what it might represent in my life – past and present.
But somehow… I think my mom wanted my blogger pen. I think she just wanted to share a thought with those for whom Christmas seems like an extra struggle this year.
She wanted you to know that if you stand back far enough, life is like a Christmas tree.

I totally imagine your mom making spaghetti, sauce and bread from scratch during special times. Thank you momma Valentine for your message of love! Interestingly enough, and because I took your mediumship and tarot course (I am forever grateful for the reading about my dad!), I was inspired to pick ornaments which remind me to each of my family members who have passed. All my family Holiday ornaments were lost a while ago, but we can still honor our loved ones in a creative way during the holidays. I love you, Rad! Much light and peace for you and your loved ones.

Hello Rad, wow. First of all, my name is Leah and second of all my mom passed Oct 13 2020. Message for you, not me—I have experienced Great loss of late- mom, dear friends have passed and others have relocated plus I was shocked to learn I have been let go from a 10 yr job I love. Such a beautiful message from your mom. It’s a year of mixed messages and blessings for me. I will put up my first tree in years (long story), which has me a bit excited and happy. But I’m filled with sadness as I lost all my Christmas decorations 2.5 years ago , the majority being homemade by my now grown boys. The exciting part is that I’ve grown in the sadness and the struggles and can now look forward to “branching out” (pardon the pun) from all
The loss and heartache. My mom (and dad) is gone too. And hearing your Mom Valentine lovingly reach out from the other side just reminds me my mom (and slowly my dad) also reaches out with never dying love. My friend bought me the newest Angel deck of yours. They are beautiful.
This message came at just the right time for me. Even though many years have passed, both my husband and myself, lost our mothers just a couple days before Christmas, my father right after Thanksgiving, his father right after the New Year, it does tend to make the Holidays a bit sad. Then we moved away from what little family is left, and throw some loneliness on top of that. Our “big” tree is gone, and we have a more manageable tree, but not with all the “old” ornaments. I told my husband a few days ago, I was going to drag all those old ornaments out and if our tree looks “funny”, so be it! Perhaps it’s a way of recapturing some GOOD memories. I truly hope so. By the way, my tree is in the dining room. 🙂
Please thank Your Mom for opening My eyes, since I lost My Mom I had no interest in setting up a Christmas tree anymore. I see what she means because a lot of the ornaments that goes on the tree comes from the two of us making them and buying them together. Again Please thank Her for Me. I will now put up a tree this year with those ornaments ❤❤
